We are seeking an experienced General Foreman to join a construction team delivering a major water treatment works project in Dumfries and Galloway.
This is a long-term opportunity with a two-year initial contract, and strong potential for ongoing work across future phases of the programme.
About the Role
The General Foreman will be site-based and report directly to the Site Manager. You will support the safe and efficient delivery of works on a major infrastructure project, or take full control of site activities on smaller packages.
You will ensure all health, safety, quality, environmental, programme, and budget requirements are consistently achieved while maintaining strong site performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support site set-up, including implementation of systems and procedures
- Ensure efficient use of resources through effective site controls
- Manage site security risks and protect all site assets
- Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental standards at all times
- Ensure compliance with method statements and risk assessments
- Maintain full adherence to HS&E policies and procedures
- Coordinate site operations to achieve programme and productivity targets
About You
- ONC or HNC in a construction-related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Valid SMSTS or SSSTS certification
- Current First Aid at Work qualification
- Confined space training (desirable)
- Experience in the water treatment / non-infrastructure sector
- Strong background as a General Foreman in civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Confident leader with a strong focus on safety and delivery
